Le crayon blanc

("The White Pencil")

The Crayon Blanc (“White Pencil”) is an experiment aiming at giving a visual dimension to the universe created by poets and musicians in the context of live performances. A white pencil gives a changing visual existence to poetic readings, characters, feelings, music. It writes, erases, multiplies patterns. These drawings tell a poet’s pain, a culture’s soul, a story’s wonders. The pencil’s motions, like a dancer’s, constantly renew its creations: every instant the combination of audio and visual compositions varies and offers new meanings, new sensations. Creations and senses dialogue and blend into a “total” artistic experience.

This project started in spring 2008 by performing "La conquete du Jardin", poems from Forough Farrokhzad (a contemporary Iranian poet). Later it continued with a tribute to Sayed Bahodin Majroh, a contemporary Afghan Philosophe. In 2009 it will continue by adding two performances: "Je t'aime comme du pain et du sel", a selection of Nazim Hikmet pems (Turkish poet), and then with poems from Wislawa Szymborska a contemporary polish peot.
